Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.

  • Gather and empty trash.

  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms

  • Clean kitchen spaces.

  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.

  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.

  • Stock and requisition cleaning supplies for cleaning duties.

  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

  • Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required (unless otherwise noted):

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Previous experience in custodial and/or building maintenance (preferred).

  • Knowledge and skill sufficient to read signs and follow oral and written instructions

  • Must be able to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies such as vacuum cleaners, cleaning compounds and solutions and perform minor maintenance on equipment.

  • Ability to satisfactorily complete background checks.

  • Requires performing heavy, fatiguing work; climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping and lifting containers or materials and equipment up to 75 pounds.

Material and Equipment Directly Used:

  • Janitor equipment including vacuum cleaners, sweepers, or other cleaning tools.

This is a part-time, temporary position expected to last around 10 weeks
